Projecting objects to profile views
- [Instructor] There may be certain times when you want to show information and how it relates to profiles on a profile view. And that's what we're going to look at in this video, how to project objects onto a profile view. I'm going to open up our exercise file by going to our quick access toolbar, choosing 07_08_ProjectProfileView. In this drawing we have our profile view, our profile, our plan view with alignments, a surface, and then there's this blue line running close to the back of the parcels along our alignment. And you see that it doesn't follow the alignment perfectly parallel. The projection of this object's going to be not exactly perfect, as it begins to get more skewed away from being parallel to our alignment. Nevertheless, it's a great way to project this object, and the types of objects you can project onto a profile view are linear, such as survey figures we've learned about already, 3D poly lines, regular AutoCAD poly lines, or feature lines, which we haven't…
