- [Instructor] So far our section views only contained sections of the corridor. What if we wanted to add more data like the existing ground surface or an underground pipeline. Let's see how that's done. To get started, I'll click one of the section views in my drawing, and then on the ribbon, I'll click sample more sources. This dialogue shows me the available sources in the drawing that I can pick from. I'll pick our EG surface and then click add. Notice that the style is set to existing ground. I'll go ahead and click okay and after a pause, giving Civil 3D some time to add the data to the sections, we see that this dashed red line is included. Also, we see some labels here that we don't actually need, and in fact, they kind of clutter up the section views.
