- [Narrator] Now that you know a bit about grading, let's talk about one of the key object types that you'll use to create grading designs in Civil 3D. Feature lines. Feature lines are 3D linear features. If you're really familiar with AutoCAD, you may be familiar with the 3 polyline. Well, there are a lot like that, but they're also a Civil 3D object. They can be used as brake lines in surfaces, and they form the longitudinal structure of corridors and conserve as corridor targets. In fact, this red highlighted feature line here is one that was extracted from this corridor. Because they're Civil 3D objects, they have styles. Just like other Civil 3D objects. And they have special editing commands. If I click a feature line, you'll notice that up here on the ribbon, I've got all of these commands that look like break and trim and join.
