- [Instructor] Another powerful way that Civil 3D automates the import of survey data is through the Figure Prefix Database. Let's take a look. Let's begin by importing some data into this drawing. From the Insert Tab of the ribbon, I'll click import survey data. I'll create a new survey database. I'll call mine survey five, you can call yours whatever you like. And then I'll click Next. I want to make sure that data source type is set to point file, and then I'll click the plus sign. Go out and select the Survey Data.txt file from my Exercise Files. I'll click Open. Next, we want to choose the proper format for the point data. And we want to pick PNEZD, comma delimited. Be very careful to make sure that is the choice that you've selected. I'll click Next.
