Designing a symbol with text placeholders

In this video we are going to design a symbol used as a room tag. This tag will be inserted into every room in the project and it will contain the room name and the room number. Ultimately, we will design this tag to contain attribute values, but that will be the subject of another video. For now, our task is to design the symbol. I'm going to zoom in here into this space and create some text, but before I make the text, I'd like to make sure I have a layer to put it on. So I'm going to open up the Layer Properties and let's see, do we have a text layer? No we don't. So let's just make one. New Layer > Text, set that layer current by double-clicking on its icon. Let's change the color of the layer by clicking on the color swatch, and we'll set it to color seven which is white. OK. Now we're ready to draw the text. We'll actually use this layer for the entire symbol. Type Test, Enter. Let's justify this text. Justify > Middle Center. So click MC, and then click some arbitrary point in…
