Editing polylines and splines

In this video, we'll explore the P-edit and Spline Wdit commands. These can be used to give you greater editing power over polylines and splines respectively. Open the map sample file in the chapter five folder. This is an image overlay of Maui, Hawaii. Let's zoom in on the northern coastline, and you'll see that the map is quite pixelated. Let's trace over some of the coastline with the polyline. Click Polyline on the Draw panel and start tracing the edge. In areas where there's greater curvature, you'll probably want to click more points, and in areas where it's a little flatter, fewer points will suffice. I'm just going to trace a small portion of the coastline. I'll press Enter to complete the Edit command. Now, zoom in and select the polyline. You could convert these segments to arcs by positioning the cursor over these mid point grips and choosing convert to arc. This is going to more accurately represent the coast line, but it's going to be far too tedious to have to go in here…
