Freezing viewport layers

In this video you will see how you can freeze particular layers, in specific view ports. Open the architectural floor sample file, in the Chapter 15 folder. Let's go ahead and open up the Layers drop-down. And, toggle on layer Z-Viewport. And, also set that layer current, by clicking on the name Z-Viewport. Let's make a new viewport over here on the side. Type m+v for make viewport. And then create a viewport over here by drawing a rectangle. Double-click inside the viewport to activate it. And then zoom in on this spiral stair here. Now let's choose a graphic scale for this. Down here in the Viewport menu. Let's try 1" equals 1'. It's zoomed out a little bit and that looks about the right size for this sheet of paper, so I'm going to double-click outside the viewport. And let's go ahead and lock that viewport while we're at it. I will select it, right-click and choose Display Locked > Yes. So now if I go in the viewport by double-clicking, if I zoom in now, the whole sheet zooms. Now…
