Saving and restoring views
Views are like bookmarks in space. In this video you will save and restore views of key places in a drawing. Open the Mechanical sample file from the chapter three folder, and zoom in here on the top drawing. I'd like to save this as a view, so that I could jump back here to the top view more efficiently. I'll type V+Enter, for view. And then click New. I'll give the name top. And I'll just leave everything with the default options. This is still view the current display. I can optionally save a layer snapshot with this view. And, we'll just go ahead and click OK. OK again to close the View Manager. Now I'd like to zoom extents and I'll do that by double clicking the Zoom wheel. And then I'll go ahead and pan by dragging the Zoom wheel and zoom in down here on the front view. Maybe I'll zoom in a little more. And I want to be more accurate about that. So I'm going to type Z+Enter for zoom. And I will specify a zoom window by clicking its upper left corner, and lower right corners…
