Using the From command

In this video I'll talk about from objects Snap and some temporary construction objects that you can optionally create to layout your drawings. Let's say that I wanted to start this drawing of the front view at a point that is ten units over from this particular point right here at the intersection of the arc and this line. Now I could just draw a line there and snap it to that point, and using ortho, I can move the cursor to the left and type ten Enter. And that identifies a new point to start drawing my front view from. I could then draw a rectangle, and snap it, right there. And continue drawing the front view. Alternatively, I could identify this point using from objects snap. And the advantage to that is that I don't have to come in here later and erase this particular line segment that I used as construction geometry. Let me show you how that would work.
