Adding lighting switches
Well we're good at adding receptacles and we're good at adding light fixtures. Now we need to add a switch. The bad thing is, there are hundreds of different types of switches. The good thing is, AutoCAD MEP has hundreds of different types of switches to choose from. This video will have us adding a switch by using the menu from our Properties panel. Then we're going to wire the switch to the lighting. So to get started, let's open up our MEP Electrical LIghting drawing. Let's make sure our display configuration, is set to electrical lighting. This time we're going to go to the Home tab and we're going to click on device. Let's expand our properties panel, and let's click on the 2 x 4 x 48 recess. In our select style dialogue, let's click the drawing drop down. Let's go down the switches. There's a lot of different types of switches we can choose from. I'm going to grab a door switch and I'm going to hit okay. Let's type al, and make sure we align it to our wall. So my door switch is…
