Adding strainers and accessories

Now that we have some two-line pipe in our drawing, it's time to start sticking on some accessories. When we place an accessory on a pipe, AutoCAD will break the pipe, add the fitting, and put it at the correct elevation. Also, AutoCAD will prompt us if any reducers or flangers are needed. The objective of this video is to add a basket strainer. A three-way valve and whatever else you want to add. So to get started, let's jump into our MEP Plumbing drawing. I want to make sure our work space switching is set for Piping. I want to zoom in on my boiler. I want to put a strainer up here. Let's go to our Tool Palettes Piping. Let's go to the Accessories tab. Let's go down to Basket Strainer. The port size is three heads inches strainer. Click the drop down, let's go to three inch Flanged Basket Strainer. Come up to this pipe, and once you see the Cut icon, select it. We can specify pretty much any direction we want it to go in. Just pick a point anywhere. Let's click OK, let it add that…
