Setting the environment

Since auto cad has so many dialogues, icons, tool pallettes and properties windows, before we get too far, we should probably spend a couple minutes looking at how to set up our auto cad NEP interface. To best maximize space and be as efficient as possible, just like creating a drawing, there are several ways to do one thing. The same holds true for configuring your display. I'm going to show you how to configure your interface to look the way I like it. Once you learn how to do this, you can set it up the way you like it. So, the objective of this video, is to configure our interface to get all of the extra dialogues and unused palletes out of the way. We will look at how to allow the docking of our palletes and where the command buttons are to turn on and off certain features. We will look at the workspace settings and how to switch the user interface between trades. So to get started, let's open up our file called mep electrical.
