220 3D Design: Generating 3D solids using regions, Presspull, and Extrude

- [Instructor] In this AutoCAD tip and trick, we're going to look at making the transition into 3D design using commands like Region, Presspull and Extrude. Now at the moment, we're in a new drawing, which is 220 3D Design-3Dsolids.dwg. You can see the name of it there in the title bar at the top of the AutoCAD screen. You can download the drawing from the library to follow along with this particular tips and tricks video. And I suggest that you do as well, because it's a really good one to follow along, so that you can understand the workflow between 2D and 3D in AutoCAD. Now, when you open up the drawing, you should be in the Model Space. And you can see there we're in the Model tab, bottom left there, like so. And we're also in the top view on the ViewCube. These are actually 2D elements in the drawing anyway. So there wouldn't be much to look at in 3D at the moment, but we will move into 3D in a minute, and you'll see the changes we can make.
