- [Instructor] Welcome to another AutoCAD tip and trick, and this time we're looking at how we annotate our drawings in AutoCAD. And what we're going to look at specifically is the new dimension command available to you in AutoCAD. So we've got a new drawing for you, and surprise surprise, it's called dimesion.dwg and you can download it from the library to follow along with this tips and tricks video. When you open it up it should be in the model space, as you can see on the screen, and you should be using your dimensions layer in the layers panel in the home tab on the ribbon. What we're going to do next is go to the annotate tab on the ribbon, and we're going to be utilizing the dimensions panel. You can also use the dimension layer override here, and make sure you're using the dimensions layer there too. There's the dimension command that we're going to look at, but just before we do that, our dimension style in this drawing is annotative. So if I jump into the plan view layout…
