Attach and overlay XREFs

- [Instructor] We're staying in our EXREFs.dwg file and what we're going to have a look at now is attaching an XREF file to a host drawing. Now a host drawing is called XREFs.dwg and our reference file is called PropertyLine.dwg. Now we know that from the last video when we went into the external references palette. So we're going to go to the Inserts tab on the ribbon, go to the reference panel and click on the little arrow here like so. That'll open the external references palette. Now what we're going to do here, I'm just going to make this a little bit smaller so we can see more of the drawing like so and the idea is is that we're going to detach the property line from the XREFs.dwg file. So select ProperytLine in the palette, right-click on it and hit Detach. That will remove the reference file. That is the preferred method of removing any XREF from any host drawing. Don't just delete them because there may be a path left behind. If I close the external references palette now…
