Attaching object data to AutoCAD objects
- [Instructor] Object data can be part of any feature in your DWG using AutoCAD Map 3D toolset. With an empty object data table, you can add custom information to all your graphics in the DWG. Let's try that now. The first thing we're going to do is zoom into the area where we'll draw a new street segment. Under View, click Suffolk Street West. We zoom into an area where we'll draw a new street segment. We're going to draw it between the two green circles. So type line in the command. The first point will be on the lower left in the center of the circle. And the second part of the line will end inside the upper green circle. Press Enter to complete the line. We have drawn a brand new line segment that represents a segment of street. Let's attach object data to it. So click on Create ribbon. Click on Attach/Detach Object Data. And for the unique ID for the streets, click that and enter 4000. That's going to be the unique segment ID. Press Enter. For the street name, we'll enter Suffolk…
