Attaching and overlaying XRefs

- [Instructor] We're staying in the XRefs.dwg file and you'll remember in the previous video, I actually physically deleted my XRef file, the property line.dwg file. Now, if I go up to the insert tab on the ribbon, go into the reference panel now and select attach, you'll see that it takes me to that folder where the XRefs.dwg file is and the property line.dwg file is. I'm going to select property line as the XRef, the drawing that I want to bring in is my external reference. So, I select property line and click on open. Now, as soon as I do that, it's prompting me to attach the property line.dwg file. I can still browse for a separate dwg if I want to. I'm not going to. Now, the bit that I want to explain here is reference type, attachment and overlay because it can confuse a newer user. If you use a reference of an attachment type, like so, and hit the attachment button, it means that that XRef will always display,…
