Attaching source drawings

Source drawings are those DWGs that contain all your information. Attaching source drawings to another, often blank, drawing enables you to combine data and query information from multiple source drawings. Let's attach some now. In our current DWG, we're going to click on Map Explorer, right-click on Drawings, and click Attach. You'll notice in the Look In area of your Select Drawings to Attach dialog box, there's only a C drive to choose from. If you have other drives, or you want to make a shortcut or alias, you can click on the Create/Edit Aliases button to create them. As you can see there's only a C drive. You may use a J drive or Q drive, or in this case we're going to make an exercise file shortcut, or alias. So we're going to type EXERCISE_FILES. The actual path will be on the desktop, Exercise Files. So go to the desktop, Exercise Files, click OK, and click Add. You'll see that there's now an alias…
