Buffer analysis
- [Instructor] Creating buffers around selected GS features are useful for proximity analysis. For example, you could buffer a river segment by 50 feet and use that buffer to choose the trees that are protected by a riparian zone. Or, in our case, we're going to buffer a particular parcel just so we can get a notification of all the parcels that are nearby. So in the GUELPH.dwg found under chapter 10, 10_02 let's drag and drop the parcels into it. We're going to zoom into the subdivision in the South zone, here. Now, you can pick any one of these parcels but I'm going to pick this one here on the corner, I'll zoom in. And what I'm trying to do is get out the data that I need. So, if we look at the properties of this one parcel I basically want a list of all the street names and street numbers that fall within 50 meters of that particular parcel. So I'll pick on that parcel first, pick the Analyze tab and choose Feature…
