Calculated properties
- [Instructor] Using calculated properties, you can calculate a new property for any feature based on its attributes or any join data for that particular feature layer. You can use the resulting property to filter, select data or theme. Let's create a calculated property on the Buildings.sdf. Draw the Buildings.sdf into your current session. These buildings don't have much data. For example, if you pick on one and look at it, the properties, it's only got a feature ID and ID. We can add a new property to that list. Let's right click on buildings and create a calculation. Let's call the calculation AREA_SQ_FEET, so area square feet. To get the are dynamically from the geometry, we go to Geometric, we pick Area 2D. Where it says Geometry Property we're going to insert the geometry of the object. Now if I stopped here, this would give me the area in square meters. So I need to convert this to square feet. Multiply by…
