Calculated properties

- [Instructor] Using calculated properties, you can calculate a new property for any feature based on it's attributes or any joined data for that feature layer, including the geometry. You can use the resulting property to filter or select that data. Let's do that with the buildings SDF under chapter 10, 1004. Let's drag that into the golf DWG. Now the building's layer is very simple. It doesn't have much data assigned at all. So if you pick up one of the buildings, and look at the properties, you'll see it's only got a feed ID or an ID. That's all it has. But we can add an additional property such as area. So let's do that now. Let's right click on the buildings, and create a calculation. So we pick on create a calculation. And we're going to say area square meters. So we're going to use a geometric area, two dimensions. So that's the function. I'll delete that to show you that again. So geometric area in 2D. If…
