Connect to a database

- [Instructor] Connecting to databases is an extremely powerful way to get information into your drawing that you, or your department, doesn't even maintain. For example, you may want to attach building information to your drawing directly from accounts receivables and have it attached to each customer in the map. Let's attach a database now. The first thing we need to do is click on map explorer. If map explorer isn't available or if your task pane is not available, click under view, under palettes, click the map task pane. Once you've got the task pane open, click map explorer, then drag and drop your database, in this case, an Access database into the map explorer. You will see that it's automatically attached and all the tables and queries will be available to you, in this case, the zoning database. Let's double-click on zoning.
