Connecting to file-based vector data

- [Tutor] AutoCAD Map 3D can import and export many formats. But one of the most effective ways of working with GIS data, is to attach it directly to your drawing, rather than importing it. Let's do that now. So, on the display manager, we click data connect to data. So we get a long list of GIS data formats that we can connect directly to and edit that data. For example, we have ArcGIS connections, ArcSDE enterprise industry models, ODBC and MySQL, directory to any Oracle spacial or Postrgres, raster images, SDF and shapes, SQL server, SQL light and all the WFS and WMS connections. In this case, we're going to use a SHP connection. For the connection name, Let's just call it exercise underscore shape. Now we have two choices which shape files, we can connect directly to a single file or a whole folder full of files. I'm actually going to use the folders connection, because that way if there's multiple shape files in that folder, we can use them. let's browse to our exercise files 701…
