- [Instructor] Welcome to another AutoCAD tip and trick. And what we're going to look at this time is the layer panel tools that you have available to you in your AutoCAD drawings. So we've got a nice, simple drawing for you, it's called LayerPanelTools.dwg. You can download it from the library to follow along with this particular video. When you open up the drawing, you'll see, you've got a nice yellow hinge on the left, green bolt in the middle, orangy-colored keyhole on the right-hand side. So we've got objects on different layers, that's the important thing. Now, what I want you to do is go to the layers panel in the home tab on the ribbon, click on the little flyout and just pin it open, so that you can see, basically, all of the layer tools on the layers panel there. Now if I select something like the bolt here, let's select everything like that, if I select it all, I can change its layer by going to the layer drop-down. I'll put it on the keyhole layer.
