- [Instructor] If you want to attach a point cloud in AutoCAD you must use a recap file. The recap file stores millions of points captured from a laser scanner and organizes them in a way that makes it much quicker to navigate through AutoCAD, allowing us to visualize, measure and build on the points inside most Autodesk CAD platforms. We're going to create the recap project using some already registered laser scan files. So let's start by navigating to our desktop. Looking for a recap icon. Or if you don't have a desktop icon, you could find it in the start menu under Autodesk Recap. Once Recap's loaded we're going to create a new project. So to do that we're going to click on the project button, and then we're going to choose import point cloud. Now first we need the project name, so we're going to call this one Piping Project. And then we're going to go back to our desktop, exercise files, and just choose the recap folder. Make sure it says recap here, and select folder. Now we can…
