- [Instructor] We're starting a new chapter now in our AutoCAD essentials course, and we're going to be looking at attributes and tables. So the first thing we're going to look at is attributes, so we've got a new drawing for you. Surprise surprise it's called attributes.dwg and as usual you can download it from the library to follow along with the videos in this particular chapter. What we're going to create, is a setting-out point for an AutoCAD drawing. So you can see we've got some lines and some circles there, they're all on layer zero and you'll notice that we also have another layer called SOP Metric in our drawing as well. What we're going to do is we're going to stay on layer zero initially until we create the attributes, and then what we'll do, we'll go to the SOP Metric layer so the block automatically adopts the current drafting layer. Go to the insert tab on the ribbon and you'll notice in the block definition panel we have a define attributes command. That's what we…
