- [Instructor] Welcome once again to another AutoCAD tip and trick. What we're going to have a little look at now is creating a simple block, but with some attributes that describe the block in our AutoCAD drawings. So you notice I've got a new drawing for you, it's called Blocks With Attributes, surprise, surprise, .dwg, you can't download it from the website as usual to follow along with the video. Now what you'll notice in front of you on the screen is a desk and a chair, now this desk and this chair are just made up of standard AutoCAD objects. So can you see that, that's an arc, it's on layer zero. That's a line, it's on layer zero. Everything is on layer zero. Now when you create new blocks always create them on layer zero because then when you convert them to a block they'll automatically assume the current drafting layer when you drop them into the drawing as a block.
