- [Instructor] Welcome to another AutoCAD tip and trick. We're going to be looking at the AutoCAD region command today, so we've got a new drawing for you. It's called regions.dwg, and as usual you can download it from the library to follow along with the video. Now you'll see it looks a bit retro, a bit '60s this region drawing, and basically there's a rectangle here, like so, and there's lots of circles. Now when you're creating regions in AutoCAD you need to make sure that they are all closed boundaries or loops. They're known as loops when you're creating regions. You'll see why in a minute, but the whole idea is that all of these loops then develop into regions, which means you can use other commands to then work with those regions to develop your shape and your objects in AutoCAD, and that will become more apparent as we go through this video as well.
