Fit cylinder
- [Instructor] Cylinder fitting is a useful tool, since working with cylindrical shapes in a point cloud can be quite difficult. Let's look at three different methods to fit a cylinder in the point cloud. So let's look at our point cloud. I've already isolated a cylinder for us, so we don't have to go through that. And here's that filter that we looked at in one of our earlier lessons. So I'm going to just sort of look at this and I'm going to look at the different methods that we have available. So cylinder fitting can be located in our As-Built Modeler tab in the ribbon menu, and then come to our Modeling panel. And similar to fitting planes, we have a couple of different methods we can use based on what we want our desired outcome to be. So I'm going to just look at the options here. We've got fit a cylinder using two points. Pick two points on the cylinder and As-Built will detect the shape, the center line, and fit the cylinder. We can fit the cylinder using visible points. So…
