- [Instructor] Connecting a database to AutoCAD features is completed using link templates. But for GIS vector data creating a join with another data source is called a GIS join. We're going to learn how to connect an ODBC data source to an SDF data source. First, let's add the PARCELS_JOIN.sdf to our current map. Next, we're going to create an ODBC connection to that PARCEL database. So 64 bit ODBC connection, we'll click on System DSN. Click Add. Make sure you pick Microsoft Access driver mdb accdb. Click Finish. We'll call this PARCEL_JOIN. We'll browse to our data set under C:\ on our Desktop. Zoning_join there it is click OK. And PARCEL_JOIN appears and click OK. The next step is now that we have that we have to connect to that ODBC connection. So we go Data, Connect to Data. Click on ODBC. Again, we'll call it PARCEL_JOIN. And the data source will browse.
