GIS joins

- [Instructor] Connecting a database to AutoCAD features is completed with link templates. But for GIS vector data, creating a join to another data source is done with a GIS join. We're going to learn how to connect an ODBC database to an SDF. The SDF will be called parcels join SDF found in chapter 10 10_01 folder. In the Guelph DWG we're going to drag and drop the parcel join into the current session. The zoning join is going to be attached to using ODBC. So let's drag and drop that SDF. There's all the parcels. If we look at them, let's pick on one look at the properties. Now we're going to join based on an ID. So each property has an ID. We're going to use that as a join key. So remember that inside this SDF file, there's a parcel layer with IDs in it. Next thing we want to do, is go to the ODBC and so type search at the bottom. O-D-B-C, we'll open up the ODBC data sources. Make sure it's 64 bit, click Open…
