GIS joins

- [Instructor] Connecting a database to AutoCAD features is completed using link templates, but for GIS vector data, creating a join with another data source is called a GIS join. We're going to learn how to connect an ODBC data source to an SDF data source. First, let's add the parcels join SDF to our current map. Next, we're going to create an ODBC connection to that parcel database. It's a 64-bit ODBC connection. We'll click on System DSN, click Add, make sure you pick Microsoft Access Driver mdb accdb, click finish. We'll call this parcel join. We'll browse to our dataset under C, on our desktop. Zoning join, there it is. Click okay and parcel join appears and click okay. The next step is, now that we have that, we have to connect to that ODBC connection. So we go data, connect to data, pick on ODBC. Again, we'll call it parcel join. And the data source, we'll browse, and sure enough, there's the parcel join we just created. And click test, no password on that database. If we were…
