- [Instructor] Binding records from an external database to each of your objects in AutoCAD is an effective way to keep your data up to date. Creating a bridge between the database and AutoCAD and then maintain those links is a really important practice. First let's open up the Parcels.dwg, it's basically a series of close P lines that represent the parcels of our city. Then I'm going to drag and drop the zoning data MDB, that's a Microsoft Access database into the Map Explorer Tab, make sure that's open. So I'll drag the zoning data into the gray area of the task pane and it should automatically attach that access file. There's only one table in this access file called Zoning. And what I want to do is I want to connect this zoning database. So if I double click on it you could see it in the Data View. I'm going to use the Parcel IDs. These are just unique numbers.
