Load using existing AutoCAD objects

- [Instructor] Keeping the intelligence, such as object data and linked templates, when moving data into vector-based GIS is critical for data integrity. You will load multiple objects into the GIS data set in this lesson. In this case, we have a new subdivision of autoCAD objects with object data, and we need to move them into the PARCELS.sdf. So let's drag the PARCELS.sdf into our current drawing. Under View, we're going to click on New Subdivision. So you'll see that the parcels do not have that new subdivision yet. And what we need to do is take these AutoCAD objects and convert them into the SDF with the same data set. If we look at the parcels, we'll notice that in the data table we've got an ID, street name, and street no, and hopefully the object data matches those names, so let's make sure it does. So if we pick on that individual object right there, that's an AutoCAD object, and look at the object data, yes, ID, street name, street no. That's great, because they have to…
