- [Voiceover] We're staying in our 01_FM_Intro.dwg file and the reason we've stayed there and stayed zoomed in on our polyline here is we're gonna be looking at how we manage those areas that we place with the polylines on our AutoCAD drawings when we're creating AutoCAD facilities management data on the drawings. So I'll hit Escape there just to deselect our polyline for the moment. Now the polyline itself has an area and that area is xdata. So how do we manage that area and that xdata onto our AutoCAD drawing? Well we use a command called Insert Field, but before we do that we've gotta create a text string within our AutoCAD drawing, so that we can edit the text and then place the xdata in that text string instead. So how does that work? Well I'm gonna go up my Layers panel here on the Home tab on the ribbon, and I'm just gonna make sure that I'm on Layer zero, just for now, Layer zero is fine, it's the default layer in the drawing.
