Overlay analysis
- [Speaker] Superimposing two GIS vector layers to generate a combined graphics and attribute layer is called an overlay analysis. Let's overlay zoning with buildings so that the resulting layer will be the buildings with all the zoning information attached. So, in the DWG found under 10_03, let's drag and drop the zoning and building's STF to our current session. I'm going to make the buildings a slightly different color so we can tell that they are buildings on the map. Maybe I'll make them a cyan color or green, there's a green. There we are. So now, we can see all the buildings are that green color, and what we're trying to do is take these buildings that have no data really, and connect them to the zoning polygons that give you like, that's a CBD, for example, and tag every building with a zoning designation.
