Performing location queries
- [Instructor] Querying source drawings using Location, enables you to choose or draw a boundary, which will cookie cut your data from all your attached drawings. For example, you can query only the drawings information that falls within the neighborhood, even though the source drawings may cover the whole city or region. So first of all, let's attach the drawings that we want to query. So right click on Drawings and click Attach. We're going to use our Exercise Files alias, which points to our Exercise Files on our desktop. Then I'm going to go into Chapter three, lesson two, and we're going to attach the HYDROLOGY and STREETS drawings to our current drawing, which is GUELPH.dwg. So we have HYDROLOGY and STREETS, and chapter three, exercise two, okay. So now that we have that, where is everything? So what I like to do is really quickly do a Quick View to give me an idea what's in my drawing and Zoom to the Extent.…
