Prefabricated units in construction
- [Shaun Bryant] Prefabricated units are being used more and more in architecture, engineering and construction. You'll often notice now when you see a large multi story building being built that they're actually craning in units that are rooms or bathrooms or bedrooms straight into the building, and they're prefabricated offsite to save all that construction time onsite. There's also lots of other savings as well with regard to services delivery and things like HVAC and piping and so on. What this particular course is going to do is show you how to develop a simple prefabricated unit in AutoCAD using 2D and then 3D. And believe me, it's going to be a very simple unit. A little rectangular unit with some windows and some doors in it, and possibly some 2D representations of furniture in the unit itself. Now, whilst it is a very simple prefabricated unit that we're going to work on, it'll take you through that workflow and that process of developing a prefabricated unit with certain checks and balances to make sure that when you place it into your AutoCAD 3D model it's in the right place at the right time.
