- [Instructor] As you can see, you can set variables. But suppose we want to get a variable. Even better, I'd like to get a variable then report it to the user, using, what's called, the MODEMACRO variable. To get started, let's jump into AutoCAD. I'm in MEP, you can go to Civil 3D or any brand of AutoCAD you have. Under Get Started, I'm going to open a fresh, brand new drawing. Now, at the command prompt, I'm going to type in V-L-I-D-E and I'm going to hit enter. Now, we can either got to File, Reopen, and find that Lisp routine we had, or we can just click open file, browse where you're keeping your files and open up your Lisp file. Now, what I want to do is I want to click after setvar clayer and hit Enter. I'm going to open a parenthese. I'm going to go with setvar, I'm going to hit space. This is going to be MODEMACRO, so I'm going to quote M-O-D-E-M-A-C-R-O, quote it out. Now what we're going to do is we're going to start another variable. So I'm going to hit space. I'm going to…
