Reprojecting AutoCAD data

- [Instructor] To re-project AutoCAD data, the DWG must have a coordinate system assigned. You attach DWG to a new drawing with the destination coordinate system and query the source drawing to get the data in the correct coordinate system. Let's look how all that works. First of all, I have a project drawing called GUELPH.dwg. It's coordinate system is UTM83-17, so it's in zone 17. Let's attach two drawings that may be in a different coordinate system. So under Map Explorer, right-click, choose Attach. We're going to make sure we use the exercise files alias, Chapter 12, 12_02. We're going to choose Hydrology and Streets and click okay. Let's just do a quick view on those just to see if they're in the right location and click okay. And there's a quick view. It's actually drawing all the streets and all the hydrology in the correct location. Now these are in UTM, but the source drawings might be in something else. Let's…
