Setting out and checking local grid and setting out point (SOP)
- [Speaker] We're starting a new chapter now and we're going to start preparing our 2D grid layout for 3D work. So you can see we've got a new drawing for you. It's called, Preparing for 3D.dwg and as usual you can download that from the library to follow along with the videos in this particular chapter. Now the first thing we need to do in this Preparing for 3D.dwg file is check our grids, our layout, our setting out point and so on. Now you would of thought if we've taken this straight from previous chapters, it should all be okay. Which in this case, obviously, it is. You can see that the grids are the same as the previous chapter. You can see that the setting out point, the little red donut, is in the same place as the previous chapter as well. However, you might be working with a different prefabricated unit from a collaborator on a project. So what you must do is check those grids and that setting out point of where…
