Setting up the GPU in the Windows OS for 3ds Max

- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to take a look at how we set up our hardware configuration to work with Autodesk 3D Studio Max, sometimes known as 3DS Max. Now I'm running Autodesk 3DS Max 2020 in this particular chapter. And there's a reason for that, and you'll see why in a moment. I've got the CPUfan.max file open in 3DS Max. You can see it there on the screen in front of you. That CPUfan.max file is available to you in the library to download and use to follow along with the videos in this chapter. Be aware though, that it is a Max 2020 file. So you will be able to open it using 3DS Max 2020 and the more recent version, 3DS Max 2021, as well. Now, the reason I'm using 3DS Max 2020 is because GPU manufacturers, such as AMD and Nvidia and so on, provide specific drivers for 3DS Max because it is such a graphics-intensive product.
