- [Narrator] Welcome to another AutoCAD tips and tricks video. What we're going to be looking at is layer states and how you can use layer states in AutoCAD to highlight objects in one of your AutoCAD drawings. Now you'll notice I've got a drawing there for you, it's called metal plate .dwg, and as usual you can download that from the library to follow along with this particular tips and tricks video. Now layer states are very easy to find, they're in the home tab in the AutoCAD ribbon in the layers panel. But they're in the little flyout menu, so click on the triangle and there they are there, layer states just there, just click on the little pin there, and that'll pin open that flyout menu, it saves it keep flying back into the ribbon and annoying you just that little bit. Let's have a look at our layer states. Now at the moment, it's telling us that we are in an unsaved layer state. So if I click on the flyout there, you'll see that we don't have any layer states in this space. I'm…
