Using Write Block (WBLOCK)

- We're staying in our simple door-36 inch.dwg file. And what I want to show you now, is a really nice feature in AutoCAD, that allows you to write a block reference out of your existing drawing, to its own separate dwg. That means that you can then edit it in its own dwg file, and bring it back in to replace the existing block reference if you want to. It's called W block, or Write block, and it's available on the Insert tab on the ribbon. And it's in the block definition panel. If I click on the fly out here, that's where you create blocks, and it's just underneath on that fly out, Write block, like so. And it's W block, if you want to type it, just type W block and press enter. So when I go to Write block, there's the dialog box. And what I'm going to do, I'm going to click on the block button, because that allows me to select a block from the existing drawing. So if I click here, there's my door 36 inch block, that's the one that's sitting there, the two orange ones and the white…
