Using the drawing tabs

- [Voiceover] When you're working in an AutoCAD drawing there are numerous drawing tabs that you can work with. Now, we're still in the 01_exploring.dwg file. You can find that in your Lynda.com exercise files, as I've mentioned previously. Now, when you're working in a dwg file there are two sets of drawing tabs that you can work with. Down in the bottom left corner of the screen you have your, what is known as model and layout tabs. Now these work with the dwg file and allow you to work in different spaces to create your design. Now the model tab is where you do all your designing, normally at 1:1 scale. Then what you would do is go into a layout tab. So if I click on one like that, you can see there is a layout tab there, and what it's got is a sheet of paper and what is known as a viewport, a scaled view of what you've got in your drawing. So this allows you to communicate your design intent by way of creating in essence a drawing sheet, that can then be printed or perhaps PDFed…
