Using the exercise files

- [Instructor] For the duration of this Autocad 2D and 3D elevations course, I will be using the latest version of Autocad. Which is Autocad 2018. Now, don't worry about version number, per se, because what I'll do is I'll make sure that I save those files back to a format that you can use with your particular version of Autocad. So for example if I do a save as, up here on the quick access toolbar, you'll notice that I'm saving back to Autocad 2013 DWG file format files. Now the reason I'm doing that is to allow any version from Autocad 2013 upwards to the latest version of 2018 to use these exercise files. Now the exercise files themselves you can download from the website with your subscription. So if I save this one now, it'll prompt me to replace it because I'm replacing the file that's already open, so I'll just say yes to that, and that's now saved and you can see there that it's zero zero elevations.dwg. Hit the save icon and there's the file name there at the top of the screen. Now when you're using these exercise files I will prompt you to obviously make sure that you're using the appropriate exercise file for the appropriate video. So for this particular video where I'm talking about the exercise files, you can see that we're using zero zero underscore elevations.dwg. And I'll always mention the file name if you need a particular file name to use with a particular video. So just make sure that you keep an eye on the version of the DWG file that you're using, and also keep an eye on the actual name of the file that you're using when you're following along with the video.
