Using space management in AutoCAD

- [Voiceover] So how do we utilize our AutoCAD drawings for space management? Well, if you've already done the AutoCAD Facilities Management 101: Areas course, you will have understood that what we do is we reference in a structural plan drawing and then start placing our area polylines on top of that. So the structural plan drawing becomes an Xref called FP, facilities plan. Now I've already done that in this particular drawing. So you can see that we're in 00_GND_FM_intro.dwg. The FM means it's our facilities management drawing. So if I jump into the Insert tab quickly and go to the reference panel and just click here, it brings up the external references pallet. And if I hover over that FP, my facilities plan, you can see that the actual name of the DWG there in the listing is 00_GND_GA_intro.dwg. Now, I've renamed that as FP using the rename command, and we will cover that later. So I'll just close the references pallet. The reason we do it is we go to the Home tab here and if I…
