Using text fields

- [Voiceover] We're staying in our 00_GND_FM_ANNOTATE.dwg file, and as you can see, I've jumped back into the Model tab in the drawing, and I've zoomed into that top bathroom in the top left area of the drawing. You'll remember the one. We placed the text in the bathroom when we were talking about annotation scaling in the previous video. So you can see the bathroom there. You can see the bathroom text there. What we're going to look at now is using text fields. Now these are lovely pieces of machinery. These are great, because what they allow you to do is link to the polylines of your spaces, such as the polylines in the bathroom, and convert it to a text field. Now the area of that particular polyline can be converted to text and dropped into the drawing using the X data around the polyline. Now the X data is all the information that is stored with the polyline, such as area, perimeter, and all the coordinates of all the vertices on the polyline. So how does that work? Well what…
