What you should know before watching this course

- [Voiceover] In this AutoCAD Facilities Management 102: Space Management course, we will be using the latest version of AutoCAD, which is AutoCAD 2017. We'll be using the native file format, the DWG file format, and what you should also know before you start this course is really, preferentially, you should have done the AutoCAD Facilities Management 101 course, the Areas course, so that you're aware of how the areas are created in an AutoCAD facilities management drawing. What you might also need to be aware of is what we often do in facilities management is reference in a structural plan. So you'll notice I'm in the 00_GND_FM_Intro drawing. Well, that's the FM drawing. If I come in here like so and click on this little arrow here, just to show me what external references I've got loaded, you can see that we've got a 00_GND_GA_Intro drawing there. Now, that will be renamed as we go through this particular space management course, and you'll see how you can rename the reference file in order to improve things like layer management. So these file references will be brought in pretty much in every single chapter in this course. So you'll get used to that, and we'll take you through it, but ideally what you should know is that we're running with AutoCAD 2017 and that preferentially, you should have done the AutoCAD Facilities Management 101 course first.
