- [Narrator] So what should you know before you start doing this AutoCAD 2D and 3D Elevations course? Well what you should know is a good basic knowledge of AutoCAD already. Ideally, you should have done the AutoCAD 2018 Essentials course available on the website as well. Now, there are two courses that I've actually created for AutoCAD Essentials. They are AutoCAD 2017 Essentials and AutoCAD 2018 Essentials. 2018 is the latest version of AutoCAD, 2017 is the previous version of AutoCAD. Now the good thing is the drawings will be saved in a .dwg format that you can use with either of those two versions. But ideally you should have done that Essentials course first, so that you know some of the terminology and the methodologies that I'm going to be using as I take you through these 2D and 3D elevations in AutoCAD. So, just be aware of which version of AutoCAD you're using and also make sure that you've done your AutoCAD, either 2017 or 2018 Essentials course before you start this course, just so you've got all those basic skills available to you so that when you start doing your 2D and 3D elevations, you've got everything that you need.
